MOVIE NEWS

SPIDER-MAN 3

It now seems very likely that Venom will join Sandman as one of the villains in Spider-Man 3, after a teaser one-sheet poster was unveiled showing Spidey in a black costume (see right). For non-fans, Venom is the result of a symbiotic "suit" that consumes a rival reporter of Peter Parker's, transforming him into an "anti-Spider-Man" monster. In the comic-books, this symbiotic suit originally attaches itself to Peter Parker for awhile - hence Spidey's black costume. So now you know.

10,000 B.C

Director Roland Emmerich (Independence Day) will direct this movie about a caveman who embarks on a journey into dangerous territory to secure a place for his dying tribe. Steven Strait (Sky High) is set the play the heroic caveman, with Camilla Belle (When A Stranger Calls) as his love interest.

THE DIVE

Another project announced by James Cameron, that should follow Battle Angel Alita and Avatar. The Dive will be a tragic love story about two ocean divers. Laeta Kalogridis will pen the script.

PRIMEVAL

Dominic Purcell (TV's Prison Break, right) is set to star in Primeval, a killer-crocodile thriller that will serve as the debut of veteran TV director Michael Katleman for 'Touchstone Pictures'. Orlando Jones (Evolution) will also star in the movie about a news producer, reporter and cameraman who are dispatched to South Africa to capture a legendary 25-foot crocodile known as Gustave. However, their quarry proves far more elusive and deadly than they anticipated, and their situation turns even more perilous when a feared warlord targets them for death.

Purcell plays the producer, while Jones will portray the cameraman. Screenwriters John Brancato and Michael Ferris (Terminator 3) wrote the screenplay, which is inspired by a real man-eating crocodile legend in Africa.

FRED CLAUSE

Vince Vaughn is set to star in this comedy about Santa Claus's loser brother...
