ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK

Director Len Wiseman (Die Hard 4,0) has been confirmed to helm this remake of the John Carpenter classic. The script has been written by Ken Nolan (Black Hawk Down).

INDIANA JONES 4

Lucasfilm have registered some potential titles for Indiana Jones 4 with the MPAA. They include: Indiana Jones & The City Of Gods, Indiana Jones & The Destroyer Of World, Indiana Jones & The Fourth Corner Of The Earth, Indiana Jones & The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull, Indiana Jones & The Lost City Of Gold and Indiana Jones & The Quest For The Covenant.

NEVERWHERE

Neil Gaiman revealed to MTV that British director David Slade (Hard Candy) is going to direct a big-screen version of his novel Neverwhere. The book has been previously made as a 1998 BBC TV series.

PINK PANTHER 2

An impressive cast is gathering for the sequel to the widely-derided remake with Steve Martin. Andy Garcia, John Cleese, Alfred Molina and Aishwarya Rai have all signed on. Harald Zwart (Agent Cody Banks) will direct.

SCORPION KING: RISE OF THE AKKADIAN

Director Russell Mulcahy (Highlander) is about to start work on a prequel to The Scorpion King, without original star The Rock. The film will tell the back-story of the Polynesian warrior and his relationship with long time lover Layla. Filming starts in South Africa on 1 October.

SUPERMAN: MAN OF STEEL

Screenwriter Michael Dougherty (X-Men II) has confirmed that the sequel to Superman Returns will feature two villains.

THOR

Marvel is after Matthew Vaughn (Stardust) to direct Thor, based on their comic about the hammer-wielding hero sent to Earth to protect mankind. A script has been written by Mark Protosevich (I Am Legend).
