'Entertainment Weekly 'spoke to producer Jerry Weintraub, who revealed
that the script for an "Ocean's Eleven" sequel has been written and is
ready for director Steven Soderbergh to read. The film could start
shooting at the end of 2003. Weinstraub insisted that "George [Clooney]
and Matt [Damon] and Don Cheadle and the whole gang will be back.
THE RIFT
Writer-director Richard Kelly ("Donnie Darko") is teaming up with James
Cameron to make "The Rift". The film concerns a group of New York
University students, led by a team of physics professors, trying to
build a Dimensional Rift in the middle of the Antarctic.

Paul Verhoeven's "Starship Troopers", which visual-effects wizard Phill
Tippett will direct himself. Frank Petzoid will serve as the film's

The long-awaited third entry for one of the most influential modern
sci-fi franchises. Future resistance leader John Connor, now a young
adult, faces a new adversary sent back through time to kill him - the
female TX...
Buzz Rating: 4.5/5.0 - This is a sequel to the film that catapulted
Arnold Schwarzenneger into superstardom in the 80s, and pioneered CGI
special-effects for the 90s. Expectations are, quite simply, massive.
Creator/co-writer/director James Cameron isn't involved - aaah!, Linda
Hamilton refused to return - hmmm, well..., there's no Edward Furlong -
yes!, but we still have big Arnie - hooray!
To be brutally honest "T3" will be a gigantic success even if the film
itself is utter crap. Leaked elements of the plot make "T3" seem like a
stale rehash of "T2" (itself merely a variation on the original), the
glimpses of the TX haven't been that impressive, and audiences are
divided on whether or not Arnie can still deliver the good now he's in
his 50s. And don't mention the strong rumour that to recoup its huge
investment the studio wants "T3" to have a PG-13 rating to ensure more
people can see it! Oh, the horror!
But, have faith: Jonathan Mostow ("U-571") is a solid choice to direct
and the special-effects are bound to be staggering - since Arnie
allegedly has the studio throwing money at the sequel to ensure it isn't
upstaged by "Matrix 2".
