Most Wanted Classic Kids TV is a DVD so-called because it contains some of the most requested cult cartoons from the Cosgrove/Hall animation stable that were produced in the early 80s.

The episodes featured are:

  • Victor And Hugo: Labelled as the 'bunglers in crime' and taking their names from the famous author, Pandamonium has the French thieves attempting to bear-nap a panda in London for Mr.X.

  • Alias The Jester: The Viking Airship is a 10-minute adventure for the time traveller as he lands in medieval England as a result of faulty spark plugs affecting his journey.

  • Avenger Penguins: Marlon, Rocky and Bluey have to battle good against evil as they go back in time for The Wild West Story, in a bid to stop Carakticus P. Boom becoming the wealthiest man in history.

  • Danger Mouse: Custard, as has featured on a previous DVD compilation, Close Encounters of the Absurd Kind, but this time in its original format as five 5-minute episodes, just the way it used to be.

Of the programmes on this disc, there's only Danger Mouse I was into and it's still as good today as it was then. As for the others, I tried to enjoy them but they totally washed over me. Whether you'll enjoy them will depend on how nostaglic you feel.

Wherever there is danger he'll be there!

All the cartoons are in 4:3 fullscreen and the prints have some scratches on but nothing you don't expect and it certainly doesn't put you off for those who were big fans of each respective cartoon.

The sound is in mono which comes across clearly enough.

The disc is only a tenner, but sadly there are no extras here. There's no subtitles and also no proper chapters - just one per cartoon, not even breaking up Danger Mouse into its individual episodes.
