Sam Gets Her Girl is one of the Adult Channel's hit shows and one of their first video and DVD releases, with four girl-on-girl 'adventures' for presenter Sammy Jayne to, literally, get her teeth into.

In "Room Mate", Sam is twinned with Barbie, but she'd rather explore her potential outside. Later she gets to grips with her assistant producer Alissa in "Edit Suite". Sam gets a call from student Angela in "College Student", who wants to interview her for a magazine. Finally, Sam shows up during a passionate phone call from Kitty to her boyfriend in "Phone Sex".

The picture is fullscreen and fine, although it has that slightly weird blurry effect used on it when they pretend something was shot on film, but it's clear it was shot in video. Examples includes ITV's Faith in the Future and BBC's The Savages, although it doesn't seem quite that bad here. The average bitrate is a fairly steady 7.15Mb/s.

The sound is Dolby Digital 2.0 (Dolby Surround) and is clear enough, but isn't used to any great degree.

First up is a Presenter Profile of Sammy Jayne herself, with some vital statistics and details of one of her fantasies. The Bonus scene is a 25-minute extra where she chows down with her boyfriend, although the food doesn't always end up on the plate. Trailers are included for this show and three other Adult Channel epics and, finally, there's a 20-strong Picture Gallery.

There are 16 chapters to choose from, subtitles are absent and the menus are static and silent.

Isn't it always the way that you're in the middle
of an important phone call and someone interrupts...

Overall :

No doubt this will sell by the truckload - and the quality's certainly no better or worse than you'd find in the TV broadcasts - but as is the way of the stupid-heads at the BBFC, you won't see any direct penetration so everything interesting is just... off-camera.

The ITC are meant to be relaxing guidelines so that consensual sex can be shown uncut, so when will that actually be APPLIED to TV broadcasts and then videos from the BBFC, so we can actually start being treated like adults?

Don't buy. Just rent, wank, return.
