Ricky Martin: One Night Only is a gig performed at Liberty State Park - featuring his trademark hit Livin' La Vida Loca - and also containing a collaboration with Carlos Santana and Jose Feliciano on track 9.

Also included is Ricky showing you a brief bit of footage of Puerto Rico, "Who Am I?" - Ricky getting very philosophical about his life and some very dodgy haircuts, plus 90 seconds of Ricky singing with some kids from the town.

His singles chart history to mid-2000 is as follows :

Sep 97	No. 6	(Un Dos Tres) Maria
Jul 98	No.29	The Cup of Life
Jul 99	No. 1	Livin' La Vida Loca
    Nov 99	No.12	Shake Your Bon-Bon
Apr 00	No. 9	Private Emotion (with Meja)

The picture quality is okay, but nothing outstanding as it's an okay NTSC-to-PAL video transfer, all presented in fullscreen. The average bitrate is an excellent 9.17Mb/s.

The sound comes in Stereo and Dolby Digital 5.1, with no problems whatsoever.

Extras. :

Chapters :

There are 13 chapters on the disc, within which are 7 songs plus some extra footage. The track listing is as follows :

    1. Sony Music Video logo

    2. Opening Montage
    3. Livin' La Vida Loca
    4. Ricky in Puerto Rico
    5. She's All I Ever Had
    6. "Who Am I?"
    7. Spanish Eyes/Lola Lola (Medley)
    8. Ricky with Children of Puerto Rico
    9. Shake Your Bon Bon
    10. Light My Fire/Guajira/Oye Como Va
    11. Maria (Live Remix)
    12. The Cup of Life (Live Remix)
    13. Closing Credits

Languages & Subtitles :

As stated before, the sound is in Stereo or Dolby Digital 5.1 and songs are in their respective languages as above, but there are no lyrics onscreen.

And there's more... :

The music promo for Shake Your Bon-Bon, even though we already have it here in live format, plus an 8-picture Photo Gallery, which you'll probably look at once and not bother with again.

Menu :

Better than his Video Collection DVD, the menus here are all animated and contain the man's music.

Overall, even for the biggest Ricky Martin fan, £20 for 45 minutes of video is not going to be an impulse purchase and if you already have the aforementioned Video Collection, then most of that music is repeated here even if it's a live recording rather than the music videos.

On the other hand, I could tell you to buy lots of copies at full price and make him lots of money so that he never returns to acting and anyone else who saw him in General Hospital (circa 1994) will know what I mean. Those who didn't can see his haircut in track 6 on this DVD.
