Legion: The Legend of Excalibur
is a role-playing game that features you as King Arthur, with the option to
play as his subordinates as well as you embark on 14 missions, training them
up along the way, to attain the goal of defeating the evil forces of Morgan
Le Fay with your swordsmen, archers and mages.
The first thing you do is obtain Excalibur, the famed sword, although you
won't get it until you've had a chat with the other guys about the baddie and
need to kill a few of his henchmen.
Graphically, it is worth a look. While I'm not a big fan of these type of games,
I prefer to wander about and cut enemies up with a sword, rather than take it
in turns to take swipes at them, a la
Final Fantasy X.
However, as you go from place to place, the movement of your character just
seems too slow and I found myself starting to lose interest.
The sound is reasonable with a pseudo-epic score playing in the background,
the rain pouring down at the start and a feeble swipe as you swashbuckle your
way around.
For those who do enjoy RPGs, it's an easy game to get into if you can stand
playing at a slow pace, but whereas it promises some action, there's far from
enough for my tastes and overall I found the game a bit tiresome.
