Gloria Estefan: The Evolution Tour Live in Miami is the tour which marks her return to stage since the Into The Light tour. The concert features the Miami Sound Machine, Afro-Cuban dancers and - in Gloria's own words - "this show encompasses all aspects of my career, so get ready because it's Party Time".

There's no trace of artifacts as the picture quality is superb. The average bitrate is a top-notch 9.7Mb/s on side one and 9.9Mb/s on side two. Given that the concert is in fullscreen, the disc is obviously not anamorphic - a process used for prints with a ratio of 16:9 or wider which allows extra resolution on widescreen televisions.

The sound also comes across in a punchy and lively style for upbeat numbers such as "Get On Your Feet", "Oye Mi Canto" and "Everlasting Love", with the occasional ballad to give your ears a chance to calm down, including "Here We Are" and "Anything For You". There are choices for Stereo and Dolby Digital 5.1.

Languages/Subtitles :

Most of the songs are sung in English, although as you can see from the list above, some are Spanish and others are a mixture of the two. The lyrics replicate the songs in their native languages and also include any dialogue between the songs.

Menu :

The menu is static and functional, albeit a little bland.

Overall, Gloria certainly puts on an energetic and entertaining concert, but it will mainly be of interest to big fans of her work. Those seeking a good DVD demo disc should also take a look, but it seems rather unnecessary to split the concert over two sides rather than master the disc as a dual-layer rather than dual-sided disc.
