A death of a Mother isn't easy, especially For Molly (Tina Majorino, also seen in Andre, When A Man Loves A Woman, Waterworld), who hasn't spoken since her passing.

Her father needs a housekeeper, not that he hasn't tried. Corrina (Whoopi Goldberg) is not what he expected but soon finds Molly is as attached to her and it's not before long that Manny (Ray Liotta) feels the same way too. Corrina brings Molly out of herself and is able to speak about her mother, but Molly is afraid that she will not remember her.

The film has good qualities it's funny and tearful. It also touches on race issues but is not over powering from a childs point of view, it's so easy to get confused especially in the 1950's.

Goldberg and Liotta make fine performances in this light comedy. A great film for the family with a happy ending.

The picture is presented in the original 1.85:1 widescreen ratio and is anamorphic. It's a recent film so you expect a crisp, clean transfer with bold colours and that's exactly what you get. The average bitrate is a steady 7.99Mb/s.

The Dolby Digital 5.1 sound is clear but doesn't get much to do, but then it's not a film full of special FX.

As for extras, what a disappointment because the film's fantastic and all Pathe can manage is a trailer. What a lousy effort.

There are 20 chapters to the film which could use more, the menus are static but feature some music from the film, and the subtitles are in English only.
