As for the PC game specs, your guess is as good as mine since my copy didn't
list any.
"Ugly bloke, ugly bloke, now we salute him...".
Colin McRae isn't the most handsome of sportsmen but he's got his own
game series so what does he care? However, although I never played the prequel
to this, I still can't see what makes this in any particular way different
from V-Rally or many other recent driving games.
There's a rally mode, an arcade mode, plus single race and championship variants
in each, as well as the ability to play against others on the internet,
providing you can get it to work!
Get from A to B, trying to beat the other cars on the track although they
tend to shoot ahead without giving you a chance... and that's it.
The graphics are reasonable but offer nothing over what we've seen before
and don't give you that all-necessary feeling of speed,
while the sound doesn't help matters with a grating car engine and a tinny
voice trying to point you in the right direction.
It's all too easy for your car to swerve about all over the place and you
can't drive too far from the beaten track which limits the sense of freedom.
A replay mode is available, showing your car from preset angles around
the tracks, just like every other game with this feature. Yawn!
