Kick Off's Dino Dino creates website and software company, Abundant Software Limited

Posted: May 27th, 2002.

Dino Dini's creates site to attract fans of his classic football games

Dino Dini, managing director of Abundant Software Limited, based in Bristol, England, as set up a site to attract fans of his classic football games Kickoff, Kickoff2, Player Manager, GOAL! and Dino Dini's Soccer. Included is a petition where fans can request a new football game from Dino.

Abundant Software is currently seeking funding to create a new game, and Dino hopes that building a community around his original games will help demonstrate the potetnial to investors and publishers.

As part of the site, Abundant have created an innovative World Cup Trading Game, where participants can buy and sell shares in any of the 32 qualifying world cup teams, and attempt to come out on top.

World Cup Trading Game

    http://www.abundantsoft.com/wcup/

The idea is to buy and trade shares in any of the world cup teams, and the one who makes the most money at the end of the world cup competition will be the winner. This will be going through a very short test phase to allow people to learn what the game is about. The game will then be reset and will start properly before the first world cup match.

The Petition

    http://www.abundantsoft.com/footie/

The petition is going very well, with over 230 members signed up, of which 148 have either posted on the petition or voted for other people's. If you have signed up but not yet taken part, please register your support by making your own post and/or voting.

New Forums

    http://www.abundantsoft.com/forums/

We now have our own forums, which you are welcome to sign up for and take part in. This is a good place to ask Dino questions and to discuss Dino's games. Please note that it is seperate from the petition, and that to make your vote count, it is not enough to post on the forum; please sign up on the petition as well.

IRC Chat

    http://www.abundantsoft.com/footie/chat.html

We now also have an IRC channel hosted by WhatNet.

If you want to talk with Dino he is available most of the time on the #dinodini channel on London.UK.WhatNET.Org

If you do not have an IRC chat client, you can use the Java client on the web site here.
