We're catching up on a number of reviews from over the summer, as one or
two sections of the site are a little behind since we got things back up and
running from returning in June, and today we bring you a live gig that
DVDfever.co.uk reviewer Elly Roberts
attended in July for this classic '70s band.
Dogfights on a handheld with Ace Combat X on the Sony PSP...
The Ace Combat games on the PS2 are easily one of the most engaging pieces of
entertainment around and this title carries on that reputation to the Sony
PSP with a storyline you'll get to grips with easily, but will be eager to
strap yourself in and feel the "G"s...
Baraka & Chronos: A double bill of real 'world' cinema on DVD...
Released today:
Back in February, we took a look at Chronos, a film made by Ron Fricke
that was an exercise in time-lapse photography throughout the course of one
day around the world. Now, in Baraka, which joins Chronos in a boxset,
we see all forms of life throughout the world in a film that was shot in 24
countries over 13 months and it's quite a sight to behold.
Anyone who saw the Six Feet Under finale in 2005 will remember
the emotional ending, the tune accompanying it being Breathe Me
by Sia, and today,
DVDfever.co.uk reviewer, Elly Roberts
takes a look at a live album by this lady which includes this track as well
as Zero 7 songs Distractions and Destiny plus several other
classics.
Susannah Reid's "tit" on DVDfever's Youtube channel...
Breakfast presenter Susannah Reid dropped a bollock on Friday just before
Helen Baxendale appeared to talk about her new play, in which she made a comment
about the weatherman and this was clearly directed at him judging by the
expression on her face shortly afterwards...
Also uploaded recently are Thaila Zucchi's appearance in Not Going Out last
Friday, as she played a lap-dancer, interviews with Tom Hardy who appeared in
Stuart: A Life Backwards shown last night, Helen Baxendale talking about her
new play - Swimming With Sharks, Silent Witness's Emilia Fox,
Naomi Campbell talking about the charity side of London Fashion Week, a longer
version of the Paul O'Grady Channel 4 trailer and the advert for the new game
Halo 3, released on Thursday.

of the country.
The new films out include: Death Proof and I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry.
DVDfever.co.uk reviewer Elly Roberts
lends an ear to the latest offering from this singer/songwriter who has
been likened to the one and only Bob Dylan, but does he have all the same
talents to fill the great man's boots?
Woke up this morning, and got yourself an Alabama 3 CD...
DVDfever.co.uk reviewer Elly Roberts
is back with the latest album from the band that brought you the theme
tune to the Sopranos, Alabama 3, and this latest album contains
14 tracks of perfection. Capiche?
The sun will die out, 50 years from now, and it's down to a team of astronauts
on the Icarus II to sort it out, led by Cillian Murphy and Rose Byrne,
but can they succeed where the team of the Icarus I failed? And what happened
to them anyway? Their spaceship went off the radar seven years ago and no-one
knows what happened to them...
Nick Moran takes the lead in supernatural thriller Puritan on DVD...
Released today:
Today we introduce a new
DVDfever.co.uk reviewer, Natasha Ross,
who starts with a DVD that's released today, starring Nick Moran, Ralph
Brown and David Soul, with Moran as a lonely man doing supposed
psychic readings for the bereaved, but when his life is saved by a stranger,
he gets a little more than he bargained for...
Blondie legend Debbie Harry appeared on the Andrew Marr show yesterday
(formerly "Sunday AM") to talk about a new musical she's currently writing,
plus her new album, Necessary Evil.
Also uploaded recently are Breakfast interviews with KT Tunstall, Mark
Knopfler, Pam Ayres, Linda Gray, plus Kirstie Allsopp talking about
how pointless the new Home Information Packs are, actress Kierston Wareing

new advert for Maltesers, a trailer for Paul O'Grady's new Channel 4 series

of the country.
The new films out include: Disturbia, Superbad, 3:10 To Yuma and Shoot Em Up.
DVDfever.co.uk reviewer Elly Roberts
describes the second album from this guy as containing echoes of soul, gospel,
blues and with a hint of country, as well as the male counterpart of Norah
Jones. Fine pedigree, indeed.
Dungeon Siege takes you to the Throne of Agony on the Sony PSP...
RPGs aren't normally my cup of tea, but I'm a sucker for playing a game while
I'm out and about and I gave this one a spin on the Sony PSP. Did it cut
the magic mustard, or did it fail to leave me spell-bound?
Danny Boyle's original movie, 28 Days Later, was hailed a classic
when it was released in 2002, but I thought it blew chunks, but I still thought
I'd give the sequel a chance, especially as it contained a brand new cast
and had a different writer and director.
It has a largely similar feel to the original, and is also set in London,
but was so much better and is a fantastic piece of entertainment, starring
Robert Carlyle, Catherine McCormackRose Byrne.
We all know Bjork - she's mad as a fish, but she often makes a good tune and
here's her latest work, brought to you by
DVDfever.co.uk reviewer Elly Roberts.
As the new comedy Run, Fat Boy, Run opens at cinemas across the
country, its director David Schwimmer appeared on Breakfast to talk about
the movie and all the other projects he's up to lately.
Also uploaded recently is a couple of clips from The Wright Stuff, one about
an idiotic dad who decided to teach his daughter at home all the things she
should be learning in school, while in the other clip we get to learn about
what makes up the little things in life, such as paying tribute to the person
who invented pencils(!)

The new films out include: Run Fat Boy Run, Rise of the Foot Soldier and Atonement.
They've opened for Deep Purple, Seal and Robbie Williams, and

dreamy ballads.
Tune into some Angelic Mythology with Robert Mason on CD...
A quality CD for serious music fans is how
DVDfever.co.uk reviewer Elly Roberts
describes this release from Robert Mason, who pools together all his
musical credibility.
And if you're wondering who the picture is of, it's Louise Glover, who features
in the new video for She's So Lovely by Scouting for Girls, which
is linked from the music chart.
The release dates for singles go up until early November
with albums also until November 2007.
Ever wondered what goes into a burger? Fast Food Nation on DVD...
When the vice president of marketing for a burger chain, played by Greg
Kinnear, learns about the problem facing their company as to what exactly
makes up the total content of their burger - and it's not just the usual bad
stuff we've come to expect - what steps will he take to resolve the situation?
This is a great movie that makes you think and including cameos from Ethan
Hawke, Avril Lavigne, Kris Kristofferson and Bruce Willis.
Loney Dear puts out some golden harmonies on CD...
DVDfever.co.uk reviewer Elly Roberts

including The Beach Boys, The Beatles, U2, A-Ha and Depeche Mode.
A murder proves to be an inconvenience in Jindabyne on DVD...
Released today:
Starring Gabriel Byrne and Laura Linney, four men chance upon
the body of a young woman in the river, but choose to continue their fishing
trip instead of reporting it to the police. This causes tension far exceeding
their original expectations and proves to be a rather bad decision, but can
they make amends?
Channel 4 ruins The Simpsons on DVDfever's Youtube channel...
It's bad enough when a TV channel has to resort to 'onscreen nexts' and dumb
channel logos to get their branding across, but the appearance of new channel
'Channel 4+1', i.e. the same thing on Channel 4, but an hour later, has led
to them squashing up the picture in order to cram in an announcement for it,
and all while the programme is on!
Also uploaded recently is a BBC Breakfast interview with Mickey Rooney
who doesn't look long for this world, Channel 4+1 trailers to promote Shameless
and Gordon Ramsay, two members of Girls Aloud appearing alongside Chanelle
on BBLB last week and also the 'Best Bits' from the entire Big Brother 8
in a mere 9 minutes.
