He's tourd with Norah Jones, he's supported Bob Dylan and he mixes a subtle
blend of jazzy-soul, gospel, folk and blues. He's Amos Lee and
DVDfever.co.uk reviewer Elly Roberts
finds this is a CD to shout about.
While Dan Owen takes an Easter break from his weekly movie digests, that

Hailing from Penarth, Wales, she's had one hit already with the single They,
but can she be more than a one-hit wonder?
DVDfever.co.uk reviewer Elly Roberts
certainly thinks so.
Well, it's not strictly a Comic Strip film, but with the likes of Rik Mayall
and many of today's British comic talent before the camera, plus the
writer/director talents of Peter Richardson involved, how does this
compare to what we know and love from the series?
Christian Slater & Neve Campbell lead a cast that includes Antony Sher,
Miranda Richardson, Harry Enfield, Leslie Phillips, Phil Cornwell, Jon Culshaw
and Mackenzie Crook.
The former Who star lived his life to the full - too full, it seems, for he
died just 57 years years old, due to a heart attack brought on by cocaine use,
but today

And a third review for the new Doctor Who on BBC1...
And, after seeing the first new episode on BBC1 on Saturday evening,
I felt compelled to throw my hat into the ring and comment on this
event as well.
Doctor Who continues on Saturday at 7pm, BBC1, followed by Dr Who Confidential
on BBC3 at 7.45pm, a not-bad 'behind the scenes'-type show, compared to the
godawful 'Pure 24' talkshow I thought it would turn into.
The release dates for singles go up until late-May
with albums until July 2005.
Elvis - a new old single every week forever...
Or so it might seem as, to celebrate his 70th birthday, Elvis is having an
old single re-released every week until late April this year.
DVDfever.co.uk reviewer Elly Roberts
brings Elvis back to the present and takes a listen to the releases on a
regular basis.

RED DOT: The campaign has a success...
Following on from the article below, published last Monday, has anyone yet
had this kick in on their digibox? I have a silver Panasonic Sky box and
it hasn't yet downloaded the software update.
The article was as follows:
"And I put this down to every single person who's ever campaigned against this
'press red' nonsense, since from today, Sky digital boxes will have software
downloaded to them over the next few days to make the red-dot interactive
logo disappear after 30 seconds of changing channel.
After that point, the 'press red-then-backup' to remove it completely until
you change channel will hopefully still be possible.
And all this time, you can still press red to access the content, which means
that the constant presence of the logo does not need to be in place.
Let's hope this is the first step to all logos being made an option, so those
of us who aren't thick enough to not know what channel we're watching
can switch off this irritation for good!"

We brought you

Today, we're proud to introduce a new
DVDfever.co.uk reviewer, Paul Manners,
who debuts with a look at the first of the new Doctor Who episodes,
due to be broadcast at 7pm this Saturday on BBC1.
What will Paul make of the new incarnation of the Doctor in the
form of Christopher Eccleston and his new assistant Billie Piper?
John Constantine battles against Hell on the Xbox...
It's been released as a film and the console and PC versions are already
available to allow you to step into the hero's shoes and take out the evil
trash, but does it set itself apart from the average fare like last year's
Riddick game, or does it follow the crowd and disappoint?
Constantine
is online and out on Xbox, PS2 and PC now.
Tears For Fears make a comeback on CD...
There were chart-darlings in the '80s and made a surreal epic album in 1989
with Sowing the Seeds of Love. Then came a high-profile split, a couple
of low-profile albums from one of them and then the name just disappeared
off the radar... until now.
However, with the first single, Closest Thing To Heaven, only scraping
in to the chart at No.40, and this album debuting at No.45 last week and
falling out of the Top 75 yesterday, is this the end of the road now that
the fans are no longer 'head over heels' about them?
DVDfever.co.uk reviewer Elly Roberts
lends an ear.
The release dates for singles go up until late-May
with albums until July 2005.

checks out the debut single from a new band who hail from Wales,
Twenty Six Feet.
And hear from Elly Roberts tonight on the radio...
Also, if you want to hear more from Elly himself, check out Spencer Leigh's
programme, On the Beat, something akin to 'Juke Box Jury', tonight
from 6-8pm.
It's available on BBC Radio Merseyside 95.8FM, and if you're

DVDfever.co.uk reviewer Jason Maloney
continues his regular column looking at the albums of yesterday,
continuing with March 1984 when new releases came from
Human's Lib, Prefab Sprout and Alexei Sayle.
He plays many an instrument, and has made a debut album that
DVDfever.co.uk reviewer Elly Roberts
describes as a slow burner, so if Willy Mason is a jack of all trades, of
how many is he a master? Some, it would seem.
DVDfever.co.uk reviewer Dan Owen returns with his
regular movie news section which looks at future releases and features US and UK
top 10 cinema listings, UK release dates, websites and trailers, including
one for the forthcoming Wallace and Gromit movie.
A Lulu compilation without her trademark Shout? About time! It's such
an irritating song I find, but someone who enjoys a collection of her tracks
is
DVDfever.co.uk reviewer Elly Roberts.
The one thing Tori Amos can't be accused of is being conventional,
but is this new release a step of eccentricity too far? With 19 tracks there's
got to be something worth listening to for
DVDfever.co.uk reviewer Elly Roberts?
The first new episode of Doctor Who in 16 years will be broadcast on BBC1
on Saturday March 26th, but will the new incarnation of the Doctor in the
form of Christopher Eccleston, alongside his new assistant Billie Piper,
work for new and old fans alike?
A leaked episode appeared on the internet recently and
DVDfever.co.uk reviewer Dan Owen
shares his thoughts.
DVDfever.co.uk reviewer Helen Jerome
returns with a look at this Special Edition DVD which is set to be one of the
biggest hits of the year, with a cast including Holly Hunter, Samuel L Jackson,
Elizabeth Pena and Craig T Nelson as Mr Incredible.
It's only a few short years since Daft Punk came to the fore with tracks
like Around the World and Digital Love, making them the new
electric musical darlings, but can this latest release cut the mustard for

While the next major update won't be until next Monday, as well as couple of
competition additions, I didn't want to pass this by until next week as it
was late on Sunday night when I learned that legendary Radio Caroline and
Radio 1 DJ Tommy Vance, he of the trademark gravelly voice, died following
two strokes, the first after which he was admitted to hospital late last week,
in the early hours of Sunday morning at 4am. He was only 63.
I once emailed him several years ago when he presented his VH1 Friday Rock Show, and received a reply in
which he asked what all the widescreen content on my site was about. I described it in a fair bit of detail,
as anyone who knows me might expect, and while I didn't hear back after that, even getting the one email
from him showed that he had some time for everyone, from all those in the industry he worked with who have
since paid tribute to him, to simple members of the public.
R.I.P. Tommy Vance. Like John Peel, who died last October aged 65, Tommy Vance will be sorely missed.

Manchester Showcase Cinema
can be found on this page, and won't differ much from what's on in the rest
of the country.
The new films released this week include: Boogeyman, Hotel Rwanda, Flight of
the Phoenix and Harold and Kumar.
DVDfever.co.uk reviewer Jason Maloney
continues his regular column looking at the albums of yesterday,
continuing with February 1983 when new releases came from
U2, Spandau Ballet, Def Leppard, OMD and Joan Armatrading.
DVDfever.co.uk reviewer Dan Owen returns with his
regular movie news section which looks at future releases and features US and UK
top 10 cinema listings, UK release dates, websites and trailers.
And this week, Dan gives us his thoughts on Sunday night's top Oscars wins.
The release dates for singles go up until late-April
with albums until July 2005.
Introducing Alex McEwan on CD...
Once in a while comes a debut album you simply must hear, and
DVDfever.co.uk reviewer Elly Roberts
decrees it to be this one. With the first single taken from it out in two
weeks, there are 13 tracks here to put the likes of David Gray and Damien Rice
in the shade.
DVDs reviewed by the editor are watched on a Panasonic TXW32R4 32" widescreen TV
connected to either a Creative Dxr2 DVD-ROM player or Microsoft Xbox and
played through a Sony STR-DB930 amplifier.
