Of this week's highlights and lowlights...

6 Jennifer Ellison - Baby I Don't Care

The Scouse mouth left the near-dead Brookside soap for a chart career and her first single is a cover version of the dire 1989 hit single from Transvision Vamp - quite apt that a fake blonde with a fake tan should cover a track by the same.

This cover version is pretty dull too in comparison.

1 (1) Evanescence - Bring Me To Life *3rd Week at No.1*

Heard some of this on CD:UK, but while it has a bit more life than most of the chart's output, it was still fairly bland.

This is the 39th single in a row to go straight into the Top 40 at No.1 :

  • 1. Aaliyah - More Than a Woman
  • 2. George Harrison - My Sweet Lord (R)
  • 3. Enrique Iglesias - Hero
  • 4. Westlife - World of Our Own
  • 5. Will Young - Anything is Possible/Evergreen
  • 6. Gareth Gates - Unchained Melody
  • 7. Oasis - The Hindu Times
  • 8. Sugababes - Freak Like Me
  • 9. Holly Valance - Kiss Kiss
  • 10. Ronan Keating - If Tomorrow Never Comes
  • 11. Liberty X - Just a Little
  • 12. Eminem - Without Me
  • 13. Will Young - Light My Fire
  • 14. Elvis - A Little Less Conversation (remix)
  • 15. Gareth Gates - Anyone of Us
  • 16. Darius - Colourblind
  • 17. Sugababes - Round Round
  • 18. Blazin Squad - Crossroads
  • 19. Atomic Kitten - The Tide is High
  • 20. Pink - Just Like a Pill
