Dominator's Music chart summary: w/e June 26th 2010

news page pic Music chart summary: w/e June 26th 2010...

This week, the No.1 once again went to the dire 'charidee' record of Shitty Rascal singing, "Shat, Shat, Let it All Out", for the second week, a bastardised cover of the Tears For Fears song, unably assisted by mediocre 'comedy genius' James Corden. However, a track that would fit the top slot better would be the rather good new song from Kylie Minogue, whose All The Lovers only got in at No.4 (see the video here), especially as there's nothing else new that's set music alight for me, unless you want to get bored senseless by Example's Kickstarts at No.3.

Meanwhile, there are umpteen new Glee songs spreading around the Top 75 each week like a metastasised cancer.

In the album charts, Oasis take the No.1 slot with a 15-year retrospective, Time Flies, although in my view you only really need to listen to the songs from the first two albums, and avoid the godawful Roll With It like the plague. Aside from that, they did have some fantastic songs in their heyday, like Supersonic, She's Electric, Champagne Supernova and Morning Glory. I'm rather sick of Wonderwall as well as it was played to death at the time.

Other notable new entries include Crowded House's Intriguer (No.12) and Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers' Mojo (No.38). Oddly, last week's No.1 from Christina Aguilera has dropped to No.29. I can't remember ever an album dropping so badly in its second week. Did she forget to print any more copies in the second week?

The new release dates for singles and albums can be found HERE and they go up to late-August 2010.
