This must be the third time the chart has seen this single, and with this remix it just gets worse and worse, and even more pointless.

18 Hot Chocolate featuring Errol Brown - It Started With A Kiss (R)

"Hot Chocolate featuring Errol Brown" ?? Featuring?? He's part of the band! Anyway, the success of "You Sexy Thing" (again), has spurred on a greatest hits album (again) and probably a string of other re-released singles, this one originally making No.5 in July 1982, and then No.31 when re-issued in March 1993.

16 Elton John - Recover Your Soul :O ===

Second single from Elton's current "Big Picture" album. Following the biggest selling single of all time was always going to be difficult, but by releasing this it seems Elton's put in no effort at all as this is a very boring song which goes nowhere.

13 Jay-Z featuring Gwen Dickey - Wishing On A Star *

A faithful, bar a few extra beats her and there, cover version of the Rose Royce classic which made No.3 in January 1978.

Top 40 ALBUM chart analysis :

This week there is are new entries for Ian Brown (Unfinished Monkey Business, 4), Pearl Jam (Yield, 7), Catatonia (International Velvet, 11) and Goldie (Saturnz Return, 15), as well as re- and chart entries for Usher (My Way, 16), Paul Weller (Stanley Road, 34) and Stereophonics (Word Gets Around, 39).

It's all change in the Top 5 as James Horner climbs to the top with his soundtrack for "Titanic", followed by the Verve, Robbie Williams, Ian Brown and All Saints.

7. Radiohead - Paranoid Android

The first of only two singles released last year from their third album, "OK Computer", but both singles, the other being "Karma Police", were excellent.

In June, "Paranoid Android" was the first single for Radiohead since "Street Spirit (Fade Out)" made No.5 in Feb 96. I don't know what the song is about, and the video doesn't help much either. The single lasts 6:30, and the video is an animated cartoon about a boy called Robin, and the things which go on in his world. For those who want to see more of Robin, he appears on the Paramount Channel sometimes late at night in 5-minute bursts. In the cartoon I saw, Robin and his friend had a microphone which was stolen by a few tramps, one of whom ate it and subsequently died. The coroner opened the tramp up, and handed back the (now smelly) microphone. Robin turned it down as it "smelled like shit", so the other tramps got it and used it for improvised karaoke on the street. The cartoon used in the single was much more weird though.

In Sept, "Karma Police" made No.8, and had a promo featuring a car driving after a man, almost running him down, but before he manages this the man turns on the car, sees the petrol leaking and sets fire to it. Man 1, Car 0.

January saw a No.4 hit for "No Surprises", and all I've seen of that promo is lead singer Thom Yorke's face inside what looks like a space helmet with water pouring in so that the level rises almost drowning him, while the lyrics rise up the screen looking faint and in reverse. That's as far as the Chart Show got anyway. They said they had a number of letters asking to show the rest of the video but said they couldn't show such things. What things though!?!?

As of April 2009, Blu-rays and DVDs reviewed by the editor are watched on a Panasonic TH-37PX80B 37" Plasma TV with a Sony BDP-1500 Blu-ray player and played through a Yamaha DSP-AX820 amplifier.
