Music chart summary: w/e June 12th 2010...
I've got a bit fed up with the charts over the last few years as there hasn't been a great deal to shout about. I may
end up dropping it altogether, but until then I'll just summarise things with a few words about the new entries and
anything else of interest.
The No.1 slot was taken up by another David Guetta collaboration, this time with Fergie from the Black Eyed Peas on a
track called Gettin' Over You. It sounds pretty much like you'd expect from a mix between those two and fairly
tedious.
Of the other new entries, the only one of note is Lena's Satellite, at No.30, which has been No.1 in Germany and
won the Eurovision song contest for them this year. It's a catchy track but has she really got a long-term career over
here? Unlikely if Kate Nash can't manage it, as they're very similar with their tone.

In the album charts, Jack Johnson makes No.1 with his new album, To The Sea, with other notable new entries
including The Divine Comedy's Bang Goes The Knighthood (No.20), Teenage Fanclub's Shadows (No.30),
Carole King & James Taylor's Live At The Troubadour (No.33) and Ke$ha's Animal (No.37).
The new release dates for singles and albums can be found

and they go up to early August 2010.
