Of this week's highlights and lowlights...

No Doubt:
Singles 1992-2003

20 No Doubt - It's My Life

Maybe CD:UK should've taken Bob Geldof's advice and shown the tape of this video and "fuck" the rest of what was planned.
Michael Jackson:
Number Ones

5 Michael Jackson - One More Chance

That's what he's after but I doubt he'll get it before trial in January, unless the key witness snuffs it before then as is possibly likely.

Thankfully the dreadful "All New Top of the Pops" didn't show this video. They claimed it was because Sony said the tape wasn't ready. Perhaps it was because they had an inept presenter and an even more inept exec.producer in Andi Peters?

When the Thompson Twins were singing "We Are Detective" back in April 1983, perhaps they were talking about MJ when they said, "There's something odd about his gloved left hand."

Shane Richie:
The Album

2 Shane Richie - I'm Your Man

This year's Children in Need single, and rather a bland cover version to boot. Still, it's been his year what with having one of the most popular characters in Eastenders in a long time. I find you can actually tolerate him now!
Will Young:
Friday's Child

1 (NEW) Will Young - Leave Right Now *1st Week at No.1*

I wish he would. This is awful.

This is the 50th single in a row to go straight into the Top 40 at No.1 :

  • 2. George Harrison - My Sweet Lord (R)
  • 3. Enrique Iglesias - Hero
