Dominator's Top 50 of 2001
The following is my look back at my Top 50 of 2001.
22. DJ Shadow - Midnight in a Perfect World
I don't know where this got to and when, but it's a fantastic ethereal
tune that seems to go on forever, but it all the better for it.
Thanks to
Jose Tavares who comments
on this track:
"This tune comes from his album "Entroducing..." from 1996,
and got to #54 on the singles chart on week ending 14/09/1996. It was one of
the best underrated tracks of that year. I remember that I heard it first on
Evening Session and then on Pete Tong's Essential Selection. The following
year it was included on the soundtrack to the movie Day Tripper. I think one
day it will have the success it deserves, the same way Rob Dougan's "Clubbed
to Death" is now being re-released with new mixes. I first heard that track
in 1995 on The Essential Selection and got to #87 in September that year.
But of course, it became huge due to
The Matrix..."
