Big Brother 2

Broadcast daily on Channel 4 and E4

Cover

July 28th :

Well after 64 days it's all over. Brian won with around 4.2 million votes. Helen came second with around 2.9 million votes, and Dean came third, but no percentages were given for any of them.

On here, 129 people voted in the last week with Helen getting 65% of the votes, Brian 23%, Dean 2% and Elizabeth 9%

Now, who's auditioning for BB3?

July 27th :

Tonight is the grand final, but last night, to their surprise, another housemate was evicted - Elizabeth, given that she only received 2% of the votes to win the gameshow, although she received 9% on here.

So now, just pick one of the three remaining: Helen, Brian or Dean.

I expect Dean will come third, Brian second and Helen will win.

July 21st :

Thanks to all those who voted over the past week to vote Helen or Paul out. On here, Paul took four times as many votes as Helen with 80% to her 20%, closely mirroring the real world where he got 84% of the vote.

When he got out, Paul was given Helen's mobile phone number so he can call her in a week's time.

Now you have to vote for who should WIN Big Brother 2001. Polls close Friday 27th July.

Brian is the favourite with Helen second. The person with the least votes by Thursday will be evicted on that evening, leaving the remaining three to carry on battling it out for the top three slots.

I expect Elizabeth will walk on Thursday. On Friday, Dean will come third, but it's still too close a call, IMHO, for first place.

July 18th :

For the final time there are again two people up for eviction, and it's Paul and Helen. Who will go, and will they finally shag each other senseless before then?

The personal choices by each housemate are as follows. I won't give the reasons yet again as they were all variations on a theme of "don't get on with them as well as the others" and "I don't gel with him/her".

  • Brian: Paul, Helen
  • Dean: Paul, Helen
  • Elizabeth: Paul, Helen (again in both cases)
  • Helen: Elizabeth, Dean
  • Paul: Brian, Elizabeth

So Paul and Helen each have 3 votes, Elizabeth has 2 and Brian and Dean each have one.

July 14th :

Thanks to all those who voted over the past week to vote Helen or Josh out. In the DVDfever world, Helen scored 66% of the eviction vote, but in reality Josh was evicted with 84% to Helen's 16%, so close to the 86/14 split between Stuart and Paul four weeks ago.

As ever, the evictee will be appearing all week on E4's Big Brother's Little Brother from Sunday to Thursday at 7pm each night.

I'm starting to warm to Dermot O'Leary's humour and last week after Paul told Helen over their candlelit dinner that he's "lived his adult life like an international pop star", Dermot replied, "Who? Limahl?! At a push, Tony Hadley!".

July 11th :

This week there are two people up for eviction again, but this time Paul has escaped the vote. Those in the frame are Helen and Josh, but who will be given the boot on Friday July 13th? (YES! Friday 13th!!!)

The personal choices by each housemate are as follows. I won't give the reasons yet again as they were all variations on a theme of "don't get on with them as well as the others" and "I don't gel with him/her".

Paul found Josh had a "poncy, slimy side to him" though.

  • Brian: Paul, Josh
  • Dean: Helen, Josh
  • Elizabeth: Paul, Helen (again in both cases)
  • Helen: Josh, Dean
  • Josh: Brian, Helen
  • Paul: Brian, Josh

So Josh has 4 votes, Helen has 3, Brian and Paul have two, Dean has one and Elizabeth received no nominations.

July 8th :

Thanks to all those who voted over the past week to vote Paul or Amma out. In the DVDfever world, Paul scored 57% of the eviction vote, but in reality Amma was evicted with 64% to Paul's 36%.

As ever, the evictee will be appearing all week on E4's Big Brother's Little Brother from Sunday to Thursday at 7pm each night.

July 4th :

This week there are two people up for eviction again - Paul and Amma, but who will be given the boot on Friday July 6th?

The personal choices by each housemate are as follows. I won't give the reasons again as they were all variations on a theme of "don't get on with them as well as the others", despite being asked to give 'full and frank answers'.

The only slight differences though was that Amma voted Josh because he can be too "serious" and Paul voted Elizabeth because she had a go at him for saying the type of girl he likes. Paul and Amma also voted each other despite appearing to get on earlier in the day after their bust-up at the weekend when Paul started becoming a bit of a control freak.

  • Amma: Paul, Josh
  • Brian: Paul, Amma
  • Dean: Paul, Amma
  • Elizabeth: Paul, Helen
  • Helen: Josh, Dean
  • Josh: Amma, Brian
  • Paul: Amma, Elizabeth

So Paul and Amma got 4 nominations each, Josh had 2 and the rest had one each.

June 30th :

Thanks to all those who voted over the past week to vote Paul or Bubble and the result was similar to that on TV.

Bubble was evicted in both cases and there was just a few percent in it either way. The official %age was 53% against Bubble and the DVDfever %age was 57%.

It'll be interesting to see him interviewed on Big Brother's Little Brother from Sunday to Thursday this coming week (E4, 7pm).

June 27th :

This week there are two people up for eviction again - Paul and Bubble, but who will be given the boot on Friday June 29th?

The personal choices by each housemate are as follows. I won't give the reasons as almost everyone gave the lame "don't get on with them"-type of answer.

  • Amma: Paul, Dean
  • Brian: Paul, Amma
  • Bubble: Paul, Josh
  • Dean: Paul, Helen
  • Elizabeth: Paul, Brian
  • Helen: Bubble, Brian
  • Josh: Paul, Bubble
  • Paul: Amma, Bubble

So Paul got 6 nominations, Bubble got 3, Amma and Brian got 2 each, Dean, Helen and Josh got none, and Elizabeth none, which I think makes her the only person NOT to ever get a nomination, rather like Nasty Nick last year!

June 23rd :

Thanks to all those who voted over the past week to vote Paul or Narinder out and the result was quite surprising.

In total, 154 people voted with 152 aiming for Paul! Perhaps everyone wanted the boring one out and to keep the annoying one in.

Alas, in reality on Friday, Narinder was evicted with 62% of the public vote.

There is now just eight people left in there. I expect Amma will be evicted next Friday given that she keeps nicking food in the middle of the night.

By the way, it was funny to see friends and relatives of Narinder and Paul on Big Brother's Little Brother on Thursday night last week. Narinder's sister was blaming PMT on her recent behaviour in the house, claiming that in some circumstances it has meant some people had been allowed to murder people.

Presenter Dermot O'Dimwit stepped in saying, "Well, no-one's ever been ALLOWED to murder anyone", after which she responded backing up her statement saying that people had been left off due to PMT. Nervously, Dermot stared in disbelief, then quickly disassociated himself from the conversation, turned to Paul's female representative, Nicola, took a sharp intake of breath and... "Nicola..."

June 19th :

This week there are two people up for eviction - Paul and Narinder, but who will be given the boot on Friday June 22nd?

The personal choices and reasons given by each housemate are as follows :

  • Amma: Paul (again) (a bit excitable) and Narinder (selfish, can't take what she gives out)
  • Brian: Paul (attitude has changed) and Amma (debates a lot - leads to arguments and affects the group)
  • Bubble: Josh (doesn't say 'please' and 'thankyou') Narinder (had a pop at me the other day, said I was a shit-stirrer)
  • Dean: Narinder (again) (I get on with her least - again) and Paul (again) (same reason)
  • Elizabeth: Paul (again) (the person I least connect with) and Narinder (still has set rules. causes shouting)
  • Helen: Brian (seen a different side to him I don't like) and Narinder (again) (I get on with her the least)
  • Josh: Narinder (causes friction in the group. arguments stem from her) and Bubble (sleeps too much, contributes too little)
  • Narinder: Bubble (very thin line between being serious and funny. quite scary when he takes a fit and says he's joking) and Amma (has to disagree with everything. eats raw mint and sits in an orange blanket constantly)
  • Paul: Brian (concerned about his badly-handled issues with Josh, has a spoilt side to him) Bubble (again) (in this for different reasons to myself. he would go out tomorrow if he knew he wouldn't win)

June 16th :

Thanks to all those who voted over the past week to vote Paul or Stuart out, or rather just Stuart since I got the one of the two votes in for boring Paul.

In total, 41 people voted with 39 aiming for Stuart. Unlike each previous week when most people voted for Helen and previously Natasha, then Anne, then Josh (as the new entrant), it's always the real winner who has gone against the voting process on here.

In reality last night, Stuart was evicted with 86% of the public vote.

Well I hope you're all happy since all the dullards are being left in, with the exception of Brian, Narinder and Helen, which will make for increasingly boring weeks.

June 12th :

This week there are two people up for eviction - Paul and Stuart, but who will be given the boot on Friday June 15th? Either way, it can't include new boy Josh, nor can he vote for anyone in his first week.

The personal choices and reasons given by each housemate are as follows :

  • Amma: Paul (again) (He's a lovely bloke, but some of the things he does annoys me and brings out my worst points) and Stuart (verrry competitive and has a smug streak)
  • Brian: Helen (she can be immature) and Elizabeth (the only person I haven't got to know this week)
  • Bubble: Paul (again) (don't get on with him as well as others) Helen (in the long run she could lose a task because she doesn't believe it)
  • Dean: Narinder (again) (I get on with her least) and Paul (same reason)
  • Elizabeth: Paul (not on the same wavelength and he spits a lot) and Stuart (he has an agressive, competitive edge which spills over and is not a joke)
  • Helen: Narinder (again) (we don't gel) quite shocked the way he got in a mood last night and Bubble (again) (he shouts a lot and it scares me even though he's joking)
  • Narinder: Helen (again) (tried to give her the benefit of the doubt but she threw it all back in my face on Saturday with wild accusations) and Stuart (want to get rid of the boring blokes starting with him and his main focus is getting a tan)
  • Paul: Amma (again) (she thinks she knows more than she does) Bubble (if I stayed he could end up annoying me)
  • Stuart: Amma (she's not participating in the group activities nor pulling her weight in the house) and Narinder (for one of the challenges, she let someone else take the blame for the failure)

June 9th :

Thanks to all those who voted over the past week to vote Helen or Penny out.

In total, 76 people voted with 63 aiming for Helen and just 13 for Penny, but like the voting-in poll where Josh came third, the outcome is completely the opposite of what really happened, as Penny was actually evicted with 58% of the vote, meaning it was quite a close call.

June 2nd :

Thanks to all those who voted over the past week. Of the potential evictees 21 people voted and the results were :

  • Bubble (7)
  • Brian (5)
  • Penny (4)
  • Narinder (2)
  • Stuart (2)
  • Amma (1)
  • No votes for Paul, Helen, Dean or Elizabeth

Now you can vote, as shown below for the person you want evicted on Friday June 8th, going by the votes cast in the house. Helen and Penny are up for eviction this week.

The personal choices and reasons given by each housemate are as follows :

  • Amma: Paul (I don't think he's always honest with himself, nor everyone else, and he tries too hard) and Penny (talks to people like we're children, it's patronising and irritating)
  • Brian: Stuart (he's changed and is more competitive - might cause a few arguments) and Helen (again) (requires a lot of reassuring)
  • Bubble: Paul (haven't really got on with him to the extent where he makes me laugh, and also an incident this week sowed the seeds of doubt in my mind) and Penny (she's a great girl but can be overpowering and teacher-ish, and dominates a lot of things, and put some of my photos on the wall which I know she did for the right reasons but I didn't want them on the wall)
  • Dean: Narinder (I've connected with her least than the others in the house and Penny (I believe she causes friction amongst some of the other housemates)
  • Elizabeth: Penny (not a good contributor or influence on the group) and Helen (there'll be more sun in Wales for her(!) )
  • Helen: Bubble (quite shocked the way he got in a mood last night and I saw a side of him I didn't like) and Narinder (I don't gel so much with her as with the other girls)
  • Narinder: Helen (she can be very offensive, didn't put 100% into the task and gives me constant hackey looks) and Bubble (likes the sound of his own voice too much and if I try to contribute to a conversation he ignores it)
  • Paul: Amma (she didn't play as a team player during the first task) Helen (slightly up herself, has made a couple of out-of-order comments such as when giving Elizabeth a funny look when Dean said he'd like to sleep with her)
  • Penny: Helen (I find her quite tactless and she offends pepple without realising it) and Amma (quite selfish and gets involved only in things that she likes to do)
  • Stuart: Penny (she mothers and smothers the group - "and no doubt the 'fuck you, arsehole' comment too?" - DVDfever Ed) and Narinder (she started off well, but doesn't contribute to the group now)

As for the new entrant, the winner was Josh. Strangely, Channel 4 didn't tell us the percentages or how many people rang up. Perhaps not many did? I didn't since it's a waste of money and at least my voting system is free. :)

The result of the vote on here for who should enter was :

  • Natasha (11 votes)
  • Anne (8)
  • Josh (3)

May 27th :

See below for a description of each Big Brother housemate - in the house and potential new blood, but which one deserves to be the first to go? And when they do, the new rules state that a new member will enter the house - which of the three people should replace the evictee?

The first 10 contestants

Cover Stuart, aged 36. Highly confident and articulate, this director of a communications company is into golf and is married with three children. Cover Penny, aged 33. A single English teacher who describes herself as eccentric, passionate and hyper. Her ambition is to make every teenager's dream come true (oo-er, missus!)
Cover Paul, aged 25. Describing himself as a 'ray of sunshine', he's a CAD designer who's single and has interests in cooking, drinking and saunas. Cover Narinder, aged 28. Worried because she's the only Asian in the house, this married medical rep is a former Bollywood star who needs only worry about being a bit on the gobby side.
Cover Bubble, aged 24. Real name Paul, he's a devoted dad with a young daughter who he only sees at weekends. He considers himself crude and a "real geezer". Certainly one of the most mouthy of the bunch. Cover Helen, aged 22. A bubbly blonde who likes to be called Hilda, she wants to remain a hairdressing stylist forever, is a wannabe It-girl and a member of the official Whigfield fan club.
Cover Dean, aged 37. He lives with his fiancee and isn't looking forward to the time spent without her. For a job he runs his own internet company, reckons he's a jack-of-all-trades who can turn his hand to almost anything. He's also taken in a guitar. Cover Elizabeth, aged 26. A part-time website designer, she's single, claims to be independent and a good listener, loves avacados, hates smoking and promises to be a "breath of fresh air in the house", despite being "bad in the mornings".
Cover Brian, aged 22. Big Brother's answer to Graham Norton, this openly gay character "makes a wicked Shepherd's pie" and is a cabin crew supervisor. One of his bad points is "playing love songs at 4.30am" and if he doesn't stop mincing about he'll be the first to be evicted. Cover Amma, aged 23. Not all her family and friends know she's a lap-dancer by trade and describes herself as a "tart with a heart". This single girl says she can talk "horse shit till the cows come home". Sounds like a prime candidate to win then.

Josh won the vote as the 11th contestant

Cover Josh, aged 32. He runs a housing agency in Soho. He's made a million and lost a million. He guarantees to bring nudity, nocturnal action and naughtiness to the house. Cover Anne, aged 45. A divorced mum-of-two, and grandma of one. She owns her own clothing store in Lancashire. She's "a do-er, not a thinker" and an "excellent late-night talker".
Cover Natasha, aged 26. Lives alone in Kent, this muscular black girl is a part-time model and aspiring writer. She claims to be sassy, sexy and fun with a wicked sense of humour and with attitude. Cover
